  1. Was googling Roy of the Rovers and came across this aricle about Melchester Rovers shirts and didnt expect to see my name. It was so cool winning that competition, and appearing in the magazine. Whats funny though is not only did it say my name was Robert Lee the week before, it also said i was from Leyton Essex instead of London lol

    1. Robert, as the designer of what I consider to be the greatest/most archetypal Melchester kit (probably because it’s bang in the era I was reading it) – nice one.

  2. I created the number on my away kit winning design for the shorts. I wasn’t aware that it had featured after my winning entry yet I was influenced by the Leeds and Spanish kits at the time

      This was when I was first becoming aware of ROTR and so yours is the classic Rovers away, to my mind.

      Unfortunately Seb, who provided the material for the article, died in 2020 but I know he’d have been delighted that you found it.
