  1. Something I guess you’d like: Aris FC (Greece) had the same grey Umbro template as an away kit during 96-97 season. I don’t know how many times this kit was used. The only one I could spot online was an infamous with rivals AEK Athens in Thessaloniki (Aris’ home ground), December ’96. Both clubs have yellow-black as their primary colours, so in this game Aris featured this grey away kit, with red socks as made evident from the (poor, indeed) photos. Aris finaly won the game with a young -back then- Trai Dellas scoring twice.

  2. As someone who was there, I actually think it was the shorts that made it worse. I know people joke about what a poor excuse Manchester United came up with, but the kit didn’t help and it really didn’t stand out, merging with the background at timed. The white shorts especially seemed to blend in with the advertising hoardings (many of which were either mainly white or used white text), especially when seen from pitch level which is where my ticket was.

  3. The reserves wore the grey shirt against Stoke in the pontins league, but with Umbro team wear shorts and socks both in red.
