Given the time of publication and the sponsor history of the club involved, this could perhaps be given an ‘Evening Post’ designation.
Last week, we lamented how Crystal Palace had not opted to go with white shirts and blue shorts at Nottingham Forest and, a week prior to that, Leeds United had passed up a similar opportunity at Everton, albeit with what would have been home shirts and away shorts, the opposite of what we hoped Palace would do.
There is solace of sorts for mashup lovers at Stamford Bridge tonight, though.

In my early years watching football, Leeds’ yellow change kit would be called upon rather than donning alternative shorts or socks with the home shirt – that did change when they moved from Umbro to Asics but, by and large, they try avoid sullying the all-white look.

This season, with a royal blue change kit and a black third, white is the only option under the lights away to Chelsea and, with the hosts in blue socks, Leeds will use those from their second kit.

It’s certainly a better look than that which was worn in West London in 2021-22.
