Synopsis
The adidas shirt of the early 1980s was a clear inspiration for the v-neck, cuffs and pinstripes of the new home kit but Umbro did also incorporate a shield for the crest, similar to that of the 1992-94 strip they produced.
The Lancashire firm celebrated its centenary in 2024 and the ‘diamond grid’ was a common feature across their kits. On the burgundy Ipswich away, it was cross-cut with patterns from supporters’ flags.
Club sponsor Ed Sheeran collaborated with Umbro and Ipswich for the Suffolk Pink third strip. As well as referencing various Ipswich landmarks, it featured a representation of the sound wave from the roar that greets the players as they come out of the Portman Road tunnel.
