1999-2000

Back in the top flight, Watford had two new kits and there was a hint of the 1980s Umbro outfits.
However, there was not a huge amount of interchangeability, with no instances of shorts and socks not being the same colour.

Sample Description
Unfortunately for the Hornets, they were relegated at the end of 1999-2000. While the kits remained unchanged for the following season – apart from the difference in sleeve patches and names/numbers – there were more instances of mixing and matching.
In the first half of the season, yellow socks were used away to teams in red sets but after Christmas they again reverted to going yellow-black-black in such fixtures. The white socks they opted for at Bramall Lane – meaning four different sock colours with the yellow shirts – were different to those which were now the primary set for the change kit.
