Today sees one of the biggest Milan derbies in a number of years as Milan take on Internazionale at San Siro.
The ‘visitors’ are a point ahead at the top of the table but third-placed Roma are six behind Milan, with the likelihood that one of the teams taking part in the Derby della Madonnina will end Juventus’s stranglehold. Between 2003 and 2011, nobody other than the Milan clubs were declared champions, but since then the Scudetto has remained in Turin.
Both sides’ classic kits are iconic – check the recent post on the new Golazzo reproductions – but the problem with stripes is that manufacturers have to come up with something new each year, with the result that the traditional look can become too compromised.
Below is a series of polls, comparing the Milan clubs’ home strips in the decade of Juventus dominance and they will remain open until 9pm tonight (the default first-choice kits are shown, though often they wore mashups against each other, while Milan used their change kit in 2016-17).
Apart from 2018 Milan & 2020 Inter I seemed to be agreeing with general populus 😉⚽️
