- Nothing out of the ordinary here, apart from a rare outing for Tottenham’s green goalkeeper strip

As usual, Matt Smith has rated the choices of the away teams, with the table at the bottom of the page:
West Brom 3, Sheff Utd 3, Man City 3, Liverpool 3, Burnley 3, Tottenham 3, Fulham 3, Brighton 3, Crystal Palace 3, West Ham 3
There’s an argument that Brighton could have managed to source alternative shorts which have trim matching the home kit, but we can’t fault them too much for mixing and matching.
Difficult to find many issues really, though Spurs in yellow illustrates how this could have been utilised more this season.
- A rare instance of a team wearing a strip at the same opposition two seasons running – Chelsea premiered their light blue kit at Crystal Palace towards the end of 2019-20.

Matt: Wolves 0, Leeds 3, Aston Villa 3, Chelsea 3, Newcastle 0, Man United 3, Leicester 3, Arsenal 3, Southampton 3, Everton 3
Wolves’ refusal to wear alternative shorts has created annoyance all season, but to then use the black shorts issue to wear the awful Portugal kit takes it up a level.
We can only begin to think what Milburn, Keegan and Shearer think about Newcastle’s continual inappropriate use of that fluorescent strip.
- Sheffield United wore white change shorts with their away kit against Wolves, while Southampton gave a second outing to the all-red look seen at Newcastle.

Matt: Tottenham 3, West Ham 3, Sheff Utd 0, Fulham 3, Burnley 3, Liverpool 3, Brighton 3, Southampton 3, Man City 3
Staggering that the Blades changed shorts to avoid a clash at Wolves and instead of matching them with the red and white stripes, they persisted with pink.
And you all thought the ESL was the worst thing to happen in football this week.
Credit to Southampton for the alternative red shorts worn with the home outfit at Tottenham.
- An unusual instance of a goalkeeper kit mashup from Manchester United’s Dean Henderson at Leeds – they were bespoke socks, though, with the club name on the front.
- While there were suggestions that Everton’s Fabian Delph had worn the white home socks at Arsenal, he did in have blue socks with the feet cut off, turned upside-down, along with a mass of white taping.

Matt: Newcastle 3, Chelsea 3, Brighton 3, Burnley 3, Man United 3, West Brom 3, Crystal Palace 3
Top marks all round but that Palace template did lead to having too much blue on display at Leicester.
