  1. May I sugges an “origin stories” about all the claret and blue teams (which I think derive from Villa) and all the red and white striped teams (which, I believe, ultimately derive from matresses)

  3. Please, what is the official Sock colour for the Arsenal kit nowadays? Can’t get a proper answer anywhere. They change from white, red or stripes every couple of years.

    1. Hi, it’s interesting how things have changed. Before 1996, white hadn’t been first-choice since 1996 but this season is the first since then where red has been favoured on two successive home kits. My own completely unscientific theory is that Arsène Wenger favoured white (even if that first change came just before his arrival) while Mikel Arteta has a preference for red, given that during his tenure, there have been four new kits with red socks (2020-21, 2022-23, 2024-25 and 2025-26), one with white socks (2023-24) and one with hoops (2021-22).
