The underlying philosophy her at MOJ is similar to that of the Underpants Gnomes from South Park.
One of the planks in the move towards world domination for 2024 is the digitisation of what has become a sizeable archive of old catalogues and articles about kits, from before the time when media outlets realised there was traffic to be had from such a topic.
Basically, it’s about ensuring that, if I were to be sent to the great kit-room in the sky at short notice, the material would still be accessible and not just in a pile of old literature that could easily be thrown out.
The aim is to upload a PDF per week – it may be a quicker rate than that, it may be slower – but over time a useful repository should emerge. We will start with a Bourne Sports catalogue from 1993, with the cover given over to the first entrance of Puma into the English football market as they agreed a deal with Sheffield Wednesday.

When it comes to internet information, its a significant material fear that 2 or more decades of records will just vanish before we know theyre gone.
And theres nothing you can do to get it back.
I’ve already seen it on a few highly detailed social media groups and pages where the sole admin has died or been booted off Facebook or some arbitrary rule broken and no effective way to appeal it and get the material back, sometimes going back years.
Some sites like the way back machine provide some cover but I find a lot of the images end up lost and in any event what happens when that disappears.
The palest ink is better than the best memory – turns out that’s as true of computer memory as it is of human memory!!! Long live the libraries and newspapers….
Loved this Catalog.
Was there any one that had all the premier league teams of that year?
Looking forward to see More posts like this.
Hi Jordi
I don’t think there was any with all 22 teams, unfortunately. I did draw them all in a copybook but sadly it has not survived!
Brilliant idea. Only a few short weeks ago, I started going through old Shoot & Match magazines, and while I was happy to send most for recycling, many were the full page Replica World/Sukan Sports/Soccer World ads ripped out for posterity!
