Having done a Hull City FKF last time out for our friend Les Motherby, today it’s the turn of our other Football Kit Podcast colleague, Gavin Hope.

Gav is a Millwall fan and the era we landed on was mid-to-late 2000s Umbro – the Lions have worn at least ten different brands since the mid-1970s but the double-diamond is not among them.

Gav is a big fan of the 2008 England away shirt and so that was the basis for the home kit.
Then, for the change strip, we based it on the 2008-09 Blackburn Rovers home kit, nodding to the mid-1990s and the green and white halves the club wore when Russian internationals Sergei Yuran and Vasili Kulkov rocked up at The New Den.
Finally, Gav opted for a yellow base on the third and we went for a style used by Olympique Lyonnais – simultaneously serving as a callback to 1998-99 and a kind of a flash-forward to 2015-16.
As ever, feedback is welcome, along with requests for future FKFs – comment below or get in touch via Twitter, Bluesky or Facebook.
