Today’s request comes from Simon Wilson and was one always likely to win us over.
Sampdoria’s distinctive style has always been popular in these quarters and is perfect for teams with three or four colours in a single kit – you could even have the four stripes in different colours to bring the total to five.
While Asics’ first kit for Samp, worn for the 1990-91 title win, was simply a rebadging of the previous Kappa strip, from 1992 they added little extras in terms of the button collar with the famous stripe trim, which also appeared on the shorts.
We’ve kept this relatively simple – black on the outside was another option to simulate the flag (as they did in Euro 2016) but having the yellow there makes for a better look, in our opinion, with the crest integrating nicely.
