Swindon Town’s home kit this season is all-red and their away is all-black (for a comprehensive history of the club’s kits, check this site).
The Robins don’t have a third kit, however, and while the black is sufficient in solving most clashes, Saturday’s trip to face Morecambe in League 2 presented a poser.
The home side also have predominantly red shirts, but with black sleeves as well as black shorts and socks. It meant that Swindon took to the field in their home shorts and socks.
Unsurprisingly, it wasn’t ideal for players, officials and spectators and so, at half-time, Morecambe switched to their blue away shirts.
That, in turn, meant that referee Paul Marsden and his officials switched from blue to yellow.
Having gone ahead through Elijah Adebayo in the first half, Swindon held on for a 1-0 win, which leaves them in seventh.
There is a part of us that would like to see them drawn away to Bournemouth in the FA Cup, but failing that, there is the potential for more fun:
Exeter away this season might also be interesting… https://t.co/rjq5foYDhE
