- Mashups for claret and blue teams all the rage on the Friday night: West Ham United – who have previously used claret socks at Tottenham and Chelsea – wore their blue away shorts and socks at Everton, as they had in the Carabao Cup; Aston Villa mixed their away shirts and shorts with home socks against Manchester United
- West Ham were also using their orange goalkeeper kit in the league for the first time
- Liverpool gave a Premier League debut to their second strip

As usual, Matt Smith has rated the kit selections of the away teams, with the running table on the right:
West Ham 3, Aston Villa 3, Sheffield United 1, Leeds 3, Wolves 0, Arsenal 3, Leicester 3, Man City 1, Liverpool 3
Almost everyone across the country noticed Wolves go all Portugal, even those who wouldn’t normally care much about football kits. A quite staggering choice for a club that have got worse in recent years after a history of sticking to old gold whenever they could.
