After the recent FKF where we provided alternative colour-schemes for Bayern Munich this season, Timothy Goodwin left a comment suggesting something similar for Birmingham City.

The Blues are now wearing Nike, with this season’s kit following a Chelsea-like blue-blue-white combination. Prior to that, they wore adidas – one of a number of blue teams in the three stripes – and Timothy specifically zoned in on the 2019-20 kit as the basis for this one.
That season, there were two extra accent colours along with the usual blue and white – navy sleeves and socks with discreet yellow trim. Given the presence of yellow on the BoyleSports logo on the shirt, one might think that that was the reason for the yellow but the betting firm’s corporate colours are navy, sky blue and red. On the black Birmingham away in 2019-20, the Boyles logo was just white, so we can assume that the yellow was a design decision to fit the home kit.

By 2023-24, the Birmingham sponsors are sneakers and apparel company Undefeated and their rather obtruscive logo is a single shape so yellow can’t be added but there is still enough opportunity to recreate the look of four years ago.
As ever, feedback and suggestions for future FKFs are welcome – comment below or tweet @museumofjerseys.
not a fantasy related comment… but is it me, or is the shorts trim on the new Man City home kit similar / identical to that which Puma used for the likes of Austria in the late 70s? If so, shame they didnt go the whole hog and do what they used to do on the shoulders and sleeves too!
Good shout, Roger!
