There is a something pleasing about the fact that Queens Park Rangers’ kit arrangement is a mix of the hoops of Queens Park and the blue of Rangers.
Twitter user Easy OK felt the nice confluence of name and colour should be exploited for an FKF and so allowed us some creativity – they asked for each of the three clubs in a brand which they themselves had never worn but which the other two had.
It says much about our tardiness in fulfilling the request that, since it was made, Queens Park have donned adidas – so strongly associated with QPR and Rangers – but it did not fully ruin our options.
For the oldest club in Scotland, we have gone with Nike, specifically the classy Celtic 2012-13 style, while QPR are given Diadora. Hooped shirts by the Italian firm are thin on the ground – apart, of course, from those they made for Queens Park – but our friend Gav Hope dug out a mid-2000s Partick Thistle example.
Finally, for Rangers of Glasgow, Le Coq Sportif was the choice. We have previously gone with classic 1980s LCS for the Gers and so this time we landed on the design used by Senegal at the 2002 World Cup.
