Following the completion otf the play-off round of this season’s Champions League, the likelihood of an Arsenal mashup was a strong one.
Wins for PSV over Juventus and Feyenoord against Atalanta meant that the Dutch pair – both with red and white shirts and black shorts – would be meeting either the Gunners or Inter. The draw put PSV with Arsenal, whose away kit is all-black, while the mint and purple third shirt is paired with default navy shorts and socks.

Two years ago, the clubs clashed in the Europa League and, as with the current season, Arsenal’s change kit was black.
With PSV favouring black shorts and white socks with their red and white stripes, the English side had to come up with a mashup and took to the field in a hastily-procured set of white shorts as they lost 2-0.

Earlier in the current Champions League campaign, PSV hosted Liverpool, whose second strip is described as dark green but looks to be a very dark shade of charcoal grey.
Liverpool have tended to avoid wearing alternative shorts in recent years and, for their trip to Eindhoven, they avoided having to find such a set as Uefa put PSV in white shorts.
It didn’t do the home side any harm as they won 3-2.
Perhaps it’s because Arsenal have bespoke white shorts for the black kit this year that Uefa have determined that PSV can play in their default format, with the visitors switching up.
It’s just the second mashup of the season for the men’s team – the third kit appeared with mint socks at Bournemouth.
The men have not worn the backup shorts for that kit but the women’s side did, at Liverpool, while the women also wore the change red shorts and white socks of the home kit in the Champions League against Valerenga.

I was expecting them to play in the third kit with matching aqua shorts and socks.
Arsenal wore green in the group stage away to PSV last season also with navy shorts and socks
That Arsenal away kit from last season still gives me Lynx Africa design vibes 😂
