Straight after midnight, Simon Treanor spotted that the adidas logo was added to the Liverpool website.
It’s a big day for the club – for the first time in 13 years, they are once again in partnership with the German firm, with whom they first joined forces in 1985.
Simon has previously requested FKFs to bridge the gap between the first and second stints in the three stripes and also to follow up the period after the second spell concluded, but today’s one is slightly different in that it focuses on the tail-end of the 1985-96 link-up.

Requested by Jay from Marceltipool, it is a reversal of the last home kit from that time. Essentially, it is a similar conceit to the Manchester United kit worn in the 1991 European Cup Winners’ Cup final.
Let us imagine, say, that Liverpool didn’t get knocked out of the 1995-96 Uefa Cup by Brøndby but instead made the final against Tirol Innsbruck and lost the toss and so couldn’t wear red, with the white and green quartered away shirt also ruled out.
Requests for future FKFs are always welcome – comment below or tweet @musemofjerseys.

Lovely kit but club would have probably gone with the gold/black kit which was used that season vs Arsenal, Sunderland & Southampton.
