Dave Hitchman’s Aston Villa shirts account is a great follow on Twitter, with some very interesting nuggets of information as well as top-quality pictures of shirts of all kinds worn by the club.
A while back, when we did an FKF featuring Manchester City in adidas, Dave wondered out loud about the possibility of a Villa equivalent:
We were happy to oblige, though of course there is a need to avoid looking too much like West Ham United’s real-life adidas offerings.
Re-colouring Arsenal’s 1980s strips is the most logical way to go, with the Gunners’ 1986-88 kits chosen as the 1988-90 shirt was quite similar to Villa’s Hummel top.

White is always a popular choice of change kit for Villa – as in 2011-12, when they used more than a few different combinations.
In reality, they actually swapped their home shorts and socks with the away versions for 1988-89.

As always, views and requests welcome on Twitter @museumofjerseys.
Can I submit a new request? Manchester United 2002-03 Adidas! Thank you so much.
