Rangers have signed a new deal with Castore for the coming campaign.
We have previously covered their first set of adidas kits in 1992 (see link on right) and today we look at the club’s merchandise catalogue for the 1995-96 season.
The home strip remained the same as the previous season but there was new red-and-white-quartered change shirt while the goalkeeper tops were in the new adidas style. It’s interesting to note how prominent the adidas trefoil is, even though it had been superseded by the Equipment logo and then the wordmark, which was on all of the kits.
The new Rangers dress tartan was launched – we weren’t aware that there were categories and had just assumed all tartan was ‘dress’ – while it’s interesting to see that there was some sort of alliance with Sondico as well as adidas, even though there would have been a crossover on goalkeeper gloves and shinpads.
I’ve met Saty Singh – and he’s probably made more money out me than adidas’ Rangers connection ever did..
