  1. They were joint mould breakers in 1993 as my team Sheffield Wednesday also brought out a black away kit at the same time. Puma with yellow pinstripes. Z

  2. As some one who probably has a undiagnosed Adidas football kit fetish I Love these designs Denis especially the 1st season set and interchangeable 96/97 set…… I’ve always been off the opinion if your a team who will/like to mix and match your shorts and socks with 2/3 out off your shirts/kits you should always keep the turnovers “plain” I.e in same solid colour off the rest off the sock stocking ( England in most Nike years are good example of this in recent years with “flexibility “ off all white and all red kits being used alongside the more traditional looking navy home shorts with white and away white shorts pair with red also) however there’s always a few Exceptions ……
    1. Glasgow Rangers home socks should always be black with red turnovers (with maybe white or black 3-stripes in Adidas years)
    2. And off course Manchester United in any Adidas year…… when it becomes a nightmare off do you go red or black stripes on any off the white kit items And if you go red or white stripes on the black shorts and socks and how both above effect normal home and away kits and especially mixed and matched kits? Think you cleverly got 96/97 right by having black 3 stripes on both home and away shorts and having both h and a sock pairs in all 3 main man United colours with both having half/nearly half of each turnovers in red meaning most/all mixed and matched combinations still “look” right! If that makes sense? Also going back to my earlier point but going the other way if you don’t mix and match your kits then turnovers look better “normally “ in opposite/different colours so a good example is with arsenal home kits which I much prefer as red with white turnovers (although having an all white alternate/euro/cup pair is ok) …… England’s 1990/91 home and away kits looked great with turnovers in short colours until they got mixed and matched …… spurs home kits looks great with either white socks with navy turnovers or the other way around but only if kept with home white shirts and navy shorts…… in years when away and or 3rd shirt is navy or sky blue and spurs mixing and matching is going to happen it’s much better looking to keep both pairs off socks in 1 “solid “ colour with matching turnovers as it keeps all kit combinations looking “good/consistent still. Anyways other then Man U and rangers is there any team I’ve missed who should always have different colour turnovers even when often mixing h and a kits?
