- Southampton wore red shorts at Newcastle, a venue which has often posed kit-problems for the Saints
- Everton wore blue shorts and white socks against Manchester United, meaning that they have now used all four blue/white shorts/socks permutations with their home shirts

Matt Smith’s scores for the away teams’ kit choices, as well as the up-to-date table:
Arsenal 1, Brighton 3, Southampton 3, West Ham 3, Everton 3, Leicester 3, West Brom 3, Man City 3, Chelsea 0, Crystal Palace 3
Awful decision by Chelsea to wear their away strip at Bramall Lane as it actually created a clash with the backs of the home side’s shirts. That so little thought goes into this illustrates that the technicalities of kit rules are still overseen by those who don’t have a clue.
I think Chelsea’s decision to wear that kit at Bramall Lane rather than their home kit actually deserves a 3 point deduction
