Manchester City took on Manchester United today, with victory for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side keeping alive the race for the Premier League.
Nevertheless, City remain overwhelming favourites for the title and, if they do go on to win it, it will be the club’s fifth since the 2011-12 season, with United only claiming one – 2012-13 – in the same period. In the decade since, City have gone from Umbro kits to Nike to Puma, while United moved from Nike to adidas, with a brief period where both clubs were bedecked in the swoosh.
We have put together ten polls, one for each season from 11-12 onwards, to see which of the Manchester sides came out on top for the campaign in question. Take part in as many or as few as you’d like, with voting open until 9pm tonight.
In each case, it’s the primary kit for the season, so strips like the one marking City’s 125th anniversary are excluded. For the current season, we have gone with the socks Manchester United have used most often rather than ones initially marketed.
