There have been seven World Cups since the kit-design explosion of the early 1990s and we have decided to transpose the beaten finalists’ designs on to the winners (yes, we considered doing the losers in the winners’ styles too but time is finite).
Where a change kit was worn in a final – 2006, 2010 and 2014 – we have reversed the order as trying to turn the 2014 Argentina away into a Germany home was just too tricky. The traditional green is chosen as a red and black version of the Argentina strip would have been too close to the real Germany alternative. In addition, the Brazil 1994 kit carries the diadora logos that the Italy strip did not as that was an FIGC decision.

As ever, feedback is welcomed, along with requests for future FKFs – comment below or tweet @museumofjerseys.
Italy 2006 (France) has made me physically sick
Class. Have you ever done a classic 90s club derbies from around the world with sponsors switched? Obviously ones where they both have the same sponsor like CR Smith or Unimed or Vodacom would be pointless!
It could be said that, because of that Italy kit, it is a complement to that article about whether the Azzurra had used Adidas.
A few real chef’s kisses here! Brazil 94 and France 18 very nice.
