A while back, Ben Newton commented on an FKF post with a list of requests, among them a suggestion for late 1980s Hummel kits.
He mentioned a few different clubs and we will cover them in turn, beginning with Sheffield Wednesday.
The rough timeframe is 1987-91.
This coincides with the usage of the Denmark half-and-half design in England and a Wednesday version is an open goal. For the Hummel version of the green Owls change kit, the Tottenham Hotspur away/third style provides the base.

For a 1989 home kit, it’s a toss-up between Southampton and Sunderland as both had Hummel at the time. As the Saints were one of those who had the Denmark design, we’ve gone with the Sunderland version.
The away in yellow and powder blue is essentially the same as that used by Tottenham (home) or Southampton’s away and third.

As always, feedback is welcome, along with requests for future FKFs – comment below or tweet @museumofjerseys.

Someone made an actual version of this:

I think it would look better with blue shorts though.
Actually this reminds me of a Hummel related FKF request I thought of a while ago:
Wycombe Wanderers are the only English team on Hummel’s current roster who haven’t been given a Denmark ’86 style shirt this year (although their green and white away shares some DNA with it). How would their quartered home shirts look in this style?
