Never let it be said that we ignore an FKF request, just that sometimes it takes time:
I’d like to see some big clubs drawn up in the style of Southend 1996-98!
— Mark Wallis (@WahlbergBlue) January 12, 2019
For those unaware, that Southend shirt was a quite memorable one, with a large yellow ‘splat’ on the chest.
Mark Wallis suggested Aston Villa, Manchester United and Norwich City, with Craig Ackers throwing Napoli into the mix, too.
Your opinions probably depend on well you regarded the Shrimpers’ original:
Feedback is of course welcome, along with future requests. Comment below or tweet us @museumofjerseys.
Bold shout by my fellow Shrimper Mr Wallis! Must admit I hated that kit and still do – maybe as we were twice relegated in it? – but it works well for Norwich
It definitely works better for clubs that are traditionally associated with a two-colour scheme, such as Villa and Norwich. For United, it’s far too much white.
Denis, did you happen to catch my comment about MLB jerseys on last week’s USA article? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
All of them are really nice, the original and the fkf shirts.
Probably i would reject villa as i prefer tradicional style for them (it could be the same for west ham or burnley)
Napoli (with Centrale del latte sponsor) is great!
